The entire trip was fantastic! The location, food, lodging, yoga and activities were spot on! A favorite of the trip was how well we all got along. Made many new friends, had lots of laughs and enjoyed spending time together.

I have been teaching Yoga since 1995. My classes and retreats are tailored to meet the needs of a variety of experience levels with focus on proper alignment, use of the breath, and the creation of a light heart. I have ERYT-500 certification from Yoga Alliance,  additional certification in Yoga for Healthy Aging and an MFA from Tulane University. I've lead yoga retreats near my home in North Carolina as well as overseas. When on retreat with me you can expect to have a unique experience centered in yoga, art, food and local culture.

Relax at Black Rock Lodge located in the lush rainforest of the Maya Mountains for our first four days in Belize. Yoga classes are held in the morning and evening on a platform overlooking the Macal River. Explore a cave in a canoe and hike around Mayan ruins as we immerse ourselves in the culture of this unique region of Belize.&nbsp;
Step out onto the beach from your casita for our 3 night stay on Ray Caye Island. Enjoy two yoga classes each day on a dock over the water. Float amongst fishes, turtles and yes, rays on a guided snorkeling tour. &nbsp;

Both Black Rock Lodge and Ray Caye Island offer guests delicious local cuisine. Because Black Rock in an eco lodge, many of the fruits and vegetables are grown on the property. At Ray Caye the chef prepares a variety of delicious entrees featuring local seafood, steaks, chicken and choices for vegetarians as well.&nbsp;

If you cancel after three payments, you will receive a 50% refund. We invite you to experience this unique, off the beaten path destination and the luxury of the Mimosa Retreat Center. The Mimosa Retreat Center is an architectural gem with well appointed bedroom villas, each affording fantastic views of the surroundings. Savor delicious vegetarian or pescatarian meals, enrich your connection to nature, let go of your agenda and sit in one of the serene meditation settings, or linger by the lagoon-style infinity pool.&nbsp;
 
You will have the opportunity to deepen your yoga practice in all-levels classes offered twice a day. The yoga shala is situated away from the main communal areas and guest villas in a grassy area surrounded by olive trees and offers uninterrupted peace and quiet. The floor space is shaded and is a generous size allowing 20 mats to fit comfortably. The shala comes fully equipped with yoga mats, straps, blocks, and bolsters.&nbsp;

Included in this retreat is The Forgotten Island Sailing Adventure on the MS Cristina, a 20m twin-masted wooden sailing boat. The all day excursion includes snorkeling in hidden coves, buffet lunch and wine. Those seeking more adventures may choose to explore the island by jeep, book a paddle board or sea kayak tour, or rent a car and make discoveries on your own.
 
Perigiali Beach has white sand and turquoise water and is only a 15 minute walk from Mimosa. The nearby town of Nydri shuts down car traffic after 6 pm allowing the opportunity to enjoy shops and restaurants on foot. Nydri Waterfalls is a longish hike or a short car ride away.&nbsp;
